Our Equipment
Our line-up would not be complete
without our other video equipment. This page is intended for all the people
who are to be in charge of the project, not for the casual Council member.
Here it is:
MX-1
Digital Video Mixer(Videonics)- This is the main component which will
revolutionize, revitalize, and modernize KNHS video productions. This piece
of technolgical genius gives us the ability to have up to 4 video inputs
(i.e. Cameras) and tape from them. It is like switching camera angles in
a movie. The mixer has the ability to do 280+ transitions, such as fades,
wipes, double horizontal flip reverse and others. Our staple in the video
setup, whoever runs it will make or break the production. It also doubles
as an audio mixer. For more information on the mixer, click
here to open the company's Acrobat product sheet. It shows the buttons
in more detail, as well as describing the features in depth. Although it
requires that you have Adobe Acrobat, it's a must read.
AG-188
Camcorders(Panasonic)- Our three new camcorders cost us the majority
of our project money. They are great quality camcorders, surpassing our
previous model. I've used them in one project already, and they are great.
Although they are not the prettiest things, they make the video look like
your prom date.
 Talkabout
250 FRS Radios(Motorola)- Six of these babies are in our control. They
provide for all video team communication. They're quality is a little less
than a good AM radio, but they do extremely well for the price. They come
coupled with a Voice Operated Headset, that doesn't do to well on voice
operation. But, I wouldn't give up these for all the tea in China. With
up to 2 miles of range, rarely should there be physical communication problem.
Video
Receiver/Transmitters(Radio Shack) - Mobility is the name of the game.
With two pairs of these, it should be a lot easier. These are said to transmit
up to 100 feet, but they should work a little bit further. They require
power cords, but should help us use the cameras where we can't string cable.
Microphones(KC AV)- We have two lapel
mics and one shotgun mic that will supposedly pick sound up to 40 feet
away. They should give us an adequate sound base for our productions.
An equipment list wouldn't be complete without
a need list. Here are our needs:
Cable - In order to do a large scale events,
we need a huge base of cable. For instance, in order to get from the Football
field to the press box, we need up to 350 feet of cable.
RF
Modulators - To use the cable above, we need RF adaptors to change
the signal to a usable form. Available at Radio Shack, these need to be
bought before the beginning of the school year.
Well, thanks for going throughout the whole lesson,
as well as the time you've spent thinking about the project. I want you
to get a hold of me to tell me what you think. E-mail me, or give me a
call. Finally, if you want to know even more, go on to links. |
